My contribution for our project "Vacant City: Trick or Treatment" was heavily focused on creating the art assets and sprites for the game and contributing towards the design-document. For the game, the most time-consuming portion of the art process was ideating and planning out the theme/style of the environment and characters. Buildings took me the most time to draw because I was not experienced with environmental art, however, I did research into game assets and explored the city of Austin to understand the elements that resonates a city. What I am most proud of is that we were able to create all of the game assets from scratch without any outside assets being used. Due to time constraints and the time I put into creating the art assets, it definitely felt like a game-jam (which I absolutely enjoy). There were so many things I learned when creating art, and I definitely learned to draw much faster through the simplification of art assets; I have included some of the assets I have made above.
