I was the main scripter of Cannibal Crossing and also contributed to the design of the game.

I scripted all of the interactions of systems which include the day-night cycle, collecting and storing ingredients, and crafting ingredients together to make dishes. I also implemented design choices through scripting. For example, in Cannibal Crossing, meat dishes are more likely to satisfy the cannibals, so I wanted to make meat take more time to acquire during the day than if the player chose to go for other ingredients. So to accomplish this, I coded a pig AI that would charge the player if the player got within its detection range. The player would then have to lure the charging pig into one of two spike posts on the island. This creates for a fun minigame while also increasing the amount of time it takes to acquire meat for cooking.
